QuietOffer is built to give brokers full control over how and when their listings appear. Whether a deal has gone under contract, a seller changes direction, or a listing needs to be updated, you can easily manage the visibility and accuracy of your property postings.
This article explains how brokers can:
Archive a listing
Edit or update listing details
Un-publish a listing entirely
…and what each action means in terms of visibility on QuietOffer’s marketplace and your brokerage’s personal page.
First: What Happens When a Listing Is Approved?
Once your listing is submitted and approved by the QuietOffer team, it goes live on two fronts:
Marketplace-wide visibility: Approved buyers can browse your listing in the main QuietOffer marketplace.
Your brokerage slug page: The listing automatically appears on your page at
quietoffer.io/marketplace/yourbrokerage.
If the listing is gated (i.e., documents require access approval), only verified buyers who request and receive access will see financials, photos, and files.
Archiving a Listing
When to archive:
The deal is under contract
The owner is pausing marketing
You want to preserve the listing for future reactivation
What archiving does:
Removes the listing from the public marketplace
Hides it from your slug page
Keeps the data in your dashboard for record-keeping
Allows you to reactivate it later with one click
How to archive:
Log into your dashboard
Navigate to the “My Listings” section
Click the listing you want to archive
Select “Archive Listing” from the dropdown options or settings menu
Confirm the action
The listing will now move to your Archived tab, and it will no longer be visible to buyers.
Important: Archiving does not delete the listing. You can bring it back at any time.
Editing a Listing
When to edit:
You need to update pricing, NOI, or cap rate
The seller provides new financials or rent roll
You want to upload new photos or documents
You made an error in the property details
How editing works:
From your dashboard, find the listing you wish to update
Click “Edit”
Navigate through the multi-step listing wizard and make any necessary changes
Save your edits and re-submit for review
Why a review is required:
To maintain trust in the marketplace, all listing edits are subject to QuietOffer’s manual approval—just like the initial listing. This ensures data consistency and quality control across the platform.
Once approved, your changes will go live immediately on both the marketplace and your brokerage page.
Un-publishing a Listing
When to un-publish:
The deal has closed
The listing was added in error
You no longer wish to market the property via QuietOffer
What un-publishing does:
Permanently removes the listing from buyer view
Prevents it from being reactivated or edited
Deletes it from your slug page and marketplace
Keeps a non-editable record for your internal view
How to un-publish:
Go to the listing's detail view in your dashboard
Choose “Un-publish”
Confirm that you understand this is a permanent action
Note: Once a listing is unpublished, it cannot be re-listed without creating a new listing from scratch.
Summary of Differences
Action | Visible on Marketplace? | Visible on Slug Page? | Can Edit? | Can Reactivate? |
Active | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | N/A |
Archived | ❌ No | ❌ No | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes |
Edited | ✅ (Once approved) | ✅ (Once approved) | ✅ Yes | N/A |
Unpublished | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No |
Best Practices
Archive rather than un-publish unless the deal is truly closed or was posted by mistake.
Always review your listing before submitting it for approval to minimize the need for edits.
Use archiving when a seller is indecisive or the listing is paused, so you can reactivate it quickly without redoing the work.
